Christmas Sparkle

First off I apologize for not writing more often. Custom orders and school has swallowed me alive, twice! Not that I'm complaining about the custom orders...but the school can tame itself down a little I think ;) But I have been busy in the studio, so I have lots to share with you!

The things I love most about Christmas is all the sparkle. I'm a sparkly type of gal, and thought that I might incorporate it into my Christmas card line this year!

These lovely cards are handglittered by me, so each one is special and individual in it's way. They are printed on luxurious watercolor paper, and come with beautiful 'brown bag envelopes' - they're nice and think, and a perfect touch! Best yet: they're 100% recycled!
These cards are only listed in singles, but sets can be made available on request (discounts may apply).

The Feed Your Soul Project

The 'Feed Your Soul' project is run by the lovely people at Indie Fixx. The idea was to allow everyone to have access to art for their homes. Since times have been financially unstable lately, not everyone is able to treat themselves to art. Artist's volunteer to the project and submit one piece - this piece will never be put up for sale either. Then the users, you, get to go onto the site and look at all the wonderful pieces (available as PDF's) and print whichever ones you'd like!

The project has already had an overwhelming response, and there are so many wonderful artworks to choose from! I know I have my eye on a view that I'm just waiting on frames for!

Now for the exciting news! My submitted works were released this past week!! You can see the article here. It's listed under my real name, but I'm sure you could recognize my style anyways :) I approached Indie Fixx's project a while ago, and submitted my artwork and had to waiting - trying to keep the secret - and now it's out!! :) You can't see it really on the small thumbnail, but the two little birds are cuddling.

As per the whole idea behind the project - this print is not available for sale in my shop in any shape or form. I may be painting a similar piece with birds...since they turned out to be little darlings in that tree, but I'm still working out ideas.

As for the original painting, I'm not sure what I'm going to do with that either. Currently it's hanging in my office, framed. I don't have any of my original trees to keep - except for the ones waiting to be sold, but they're just temporarily staying I hope. So I might just keep this one. :)

Scary, Scary Halloween!

My ghoulish Scary Eyes Halloween stationery sets are now listed!! (Find them on: Etsy, Artfire and Supermarket).

They consist of 3 'scary eye' designs. I'm not sure if you could guess what animals they belong to - and I thought that this might make an amazing contest - but I hate to keep secrets, and really want to tell everyone! One is a set of cat eyes, and then owl eyes, and then a bunch of mice eyes - I'm sure you can figure out which belongs to which! :o)

As I had mentioned before, this is a limited edition set. It is limited to 10 sets - and I won't crack and make more - so get them before they're gone! They also come with an assortment of envelopes: a light orange, pumpkin orange, and a deep brown kraft envelope. I thought it would be more fun this way!

For more pictures, see my flickr.

So send some scare-mail today!

Autumn!

So with all these Christmas items that I had been posting, it was quite obvious that I skipped over an entire season - and a holiday!

So first up are my Autumn Stationery Set! Like the other new stationery lines, these are printed on beautiful and thick watercolor paper and come with the brown Kraft envelopes.

Autumn is always so full of colour - bright yellows and rich reds, mixed with a fresh sprinkling of greens. This stationery set has it all! The colours are cheerful and very vibrantly printed on the paper.

The set includes the following paintings: Autumn Forest, Corn Field, Red Forest, The Turning and Crimson Flourish. All of which are available as art prints and some as pocket mirrors (and Autumn Forest is still available as an original, here!). You can see my listing for more images!

Next is a Halloween stationery line that I have coming out - it's just going through final printing / prep. So all I have for now is a sneak peek at the designs, below. (Bigger / better images can be see on my Flickr account)

They will be available in sets of 3 and come with orange and brown envelopes - and it will be a very limited edition run - I know, I never do these! The reasoning is that these designs are unlike my other paintings, and very seasonal. I will have more information when I get these back from the printers and have them posted. Keep your eyes peeled!

Do I hear Jingles?

My Christmas collection is almost complete in the shop now!

I have added three new stationery sets this week, along with a Christmas Tag set. They're printed on gorgeous watercolor paper, and come with beautiful brown envelopes.

You may have noticed two of the designs are returning - they were so well loved that I couldn't include them again.

But you may have also noticed two new designs as well, which I'm hoping will be just as well loved.

Blue Christmas Tree Holiday Card Set

I hope that I've included enough pictures! hehe. I think my favorite was the random one that I took with the bear way up at the top - I had to include it in my blog, that bear was just dying to be included :o)

What are all these little squares?

Whatever could these be? And what's that: a hint of Christmas colours?!

Here's a better look:

It's been right back to work in the studio - and in greater than full force to catch up on missed time. Oh, self-employment morals couldn't you just leave me for a few hours a day? Hehe

These should be in the shop sometime later this week, or early the next. Wait until you see them all finished and pretty!

The Stationery is Back!

My stationery line was pulled last week since I had decided to update and refresh the look of it. I have completely revised my line: new papers, new envelopes, new sets and new packaging!

It will be awhile until all my new sets are added - I'm thinking that it will be a month long process (especially with my vacation coming up); but I am super excited about it. I think the 'updates' on my line are perfect for it and that it is so much better now! The again, it's my line, so I may be biased heh.

So first, for the paper. It's a deliciously thick 140 lb watercolor paper, with the most beautiful texture ever! It's made from 100% cotton rag. So pretty, and the printers print on it so well - even if they have a hard time taking the paper:

We had to set the printer to label, and give it a little push each time, but no jamming so we're safe!

The envelopes are now all going to be 100% recycled kraft envelopes. The contrast the paper wonderfully, and tend to give the whole set a natural feel.

The sets will be in 3's and 6's once all loaded up - as well as single cards where applicable. The sets of 6 will be in clear boxes, and all sets will have paper inserts to 'brand' them, and give them a more uniform and professional feel. Add a cute gift tag tied on - and they make the perfect gift!

So far, I have a Thank You Card Mixed Set and Five Little Christmas Trees Set available, in sets of three. You can also see more images in my Flickr.

I can't wait to add the rest throughout this month! :o)

The 2010 Calendar

The 2010 Calendar is now available in my shop! I got it out much earlier than last year - so there's no rush for those who are thinking of gifting it for Christmas. It took a lot of work, but it's here!

It has 12 new designs, as well as four old designs from 2009 - so you can use it sooner this year :o)

It comes with a super cute case to display them in, and it sits upright on your desk - just sit it up with no fuss and there you go!

A wall calendar is soon to follow this week. So if you're limited on desk space - or just prefer things on the wall - stay tuned!

There's a lot more picture of the calendar and all it's month in my listing, and on my flickr site! Available in my Etsy and Artfire shops.

My New Shoppe!

I've been playing around the idea of a shop that is run through my website. Those who follow me on Twitter probably have seen that I was experimenting with cart systems. Well, the winner was Paypal: it was plain and simple; letting me do whatever I wanted to do with it.

It's clean and simple like the site was, and easy to navigate - or so I think hehe. Once it's live, I will be asking for opinions :)

It will still be awhile before the shop is live. There is tons of products that need to be uploaded and created in it.

Spring Tags

I have finally finished my little spring project, as mentioned in a previous post! Spring tags! The hardest, most time consuming part was trying to find nice watercolor paper that I knew would be compatible with my print shop's printers (I love them, they're letting me bring in my own paper :)

The paper makes these tags so luxurious feeling and wonderful, and the combination of the green gingham and satin pink ribbon, and of course rounded corners are lovely. These are perfect for all your spring time gift giving needs.

Mother's and Father's Day

Mother's and Father's Day are coming up. Okay, so they're a bit far off - but in terms of shipping, they are narrowing in. I created special stationery for the occasions from two of my paintings. They are available in shop now!

Something Up My Sleeve....

I know posts have been minimal, but I've been working on something. I've just have to get some papers picked out and tested :)

Cat Stationery!

So I've taken the two cat paintings, Sweetheart and Whiskers & Fishes, that I did awhile back and made some stationery with them! I've also used the most wonderful envelopes. They are a delicious chocolate brown, and made from 100% recycled material!

It comes in a set of 4 cards, 2 of each design, and are perfect for anytime moments :)

ArtFire

Today I joined ArtFire. They currently have a promotion, where you can join for $7 a month (instead of $20/month). That's lower than my Etsy fees (not complaining about Etsy fees, they are definitely worth it); but I figured it would be a good investment. And if it doesn't work after a couple of months, it's not a big deal. And, going to a new venue is always a good idea, just to spread the love around, although I think most of the people on ArtFire are also on Etsy. Fingers crossed!

The final Valentine's Day Cards...

These are the final Valentine Day cards being created this year. They are on a lovely texture, heavy watercolor paper. Since I only had two sets of watercolor paper cards (and it would take too long for a new order to arrive), the "Love You" glitter cards will, unfortunately not have a watercolour counterpart - for now.

These cards, along with the glitter series, come with the most delicious brown chocolate envelopes! They are just so rich, and the perfect compliment. Since these here are watercolor, there is only one of each available.

I won't lie...these cards were in store earlier...but the pictures were not so pretty, so I didn't want to blog about them until I had taken prettier ones :)

A Sparkly Valentine's

I've finished my little collection of sparkly, glitter Valentine's for this year. The collection has three different designs:

I (heart) you - glitter stationery on card

Love you - glitter stationery on card

i like you - glitter stationery on card

Now, the reason only one of the listing, I like you, has those cute candy hearts and the rest do not, is because, unfortunately - I ate them all before the other cards were done *blushes* I should have known that would happen hehe.

I love the glitter, and the idea for these cards came to me at Christmas time, when I made cards for my friends.

Art Studio!!

So, it's official. I'm moving again. If you were following me on Twitter, you probably saw little tweets mentioning apartment hunting every now and then.

I'll be going into a three-bedroom apartment, and sharing it with my younger brother (I can keep my eyes on him, and keep him out of trouble lol). I got so lucky to find this apartment on short notice, since my city is having a bit of a housing crisis.

Well, since it's three bedroom, and there's only two of us. I let my brother, Justin, take the large bedroom in exchange for the other two bedrooms :). Meaning....one is going to be my art studio / office!! I'm so excited! I really dislike working with my bed right beside me right now; on late nights, it's just so tempting to crawl into bed - and some nights, I have done just that.

I will definitely share pictures once I'm in and all settled down. It won't be until sometime in January, since I get the apartment January 1st. I'm going to start packing on the 22nd I think - but don't worry; I'll be packing up my store products last - so I'll still be readily shipping out! It's mostly the things I won't need that will get packed first.

Also....if you currently have an art studio / office...please send me a link with pictures! I would love some ideas :)

Back to studying Radiographic Equipment....sigh.

2009 Jellybeans Wall Calendar Revisited

So, as I mentioned in a previous blog post, I had wanted to retake my pictures for my 2009 Wall Calendar, so the listing is a bit more attractive. And here is one of them!

The shots are more interesting than before - and I had a more sunny day today to get some natural light into them. The puppy in the picture is my dog Belle, who passed away two summers ago. I thought, Oreo was having so much of the spotlight, Belle still deserved some!

If you want to see the rest of the shots, you'll just have to see my listing!

On an update: Oreo appears to be okay after his ribbon eating accident. I'm still watching over him just in case.

Introducing Jellybeans' 2009 Calendar

I decided a little while back that I was going to release a 2009 calendar featuring my work. Having never made a calendar, it was quite the undertaking; but I hope you agree: I think it turned out great! My 2009 calendar features many of my art prints, and I have chosen 'significant' prints for months that have a little extra meaning when I could. For example, I choose the "Mother's Daughter" print for May, the month for Mother's Day. I choose the "Poppies" print for November, to celebrate and remember the lives of those who had fought in the wars. And of course, "Red Christmas Tree" for December. Just to name a few :) What a cute way to enjoy the 2009 year!

And surprise to my faithful readers! This is the "secret" project that I have been working on :)

The calendar is currently available in my online store: http://jellybeans.etsy.com
