Vacation Sale: FREE SHIPPING

As some may know from previous announcements in Artfire and Etsy stores and on Twitter, I am officially on vacation now until May 1st (I just love everyone so much that I can't stay away from my blog and stores :)

My stores, as they have before, have been left open. And as a treat to everyone since I'm away, Free Shipping is being offered on all prints (stationery excluded, unless ordered with a print).

You can see my stores for more details:

Summer Earrings!

I got these lovely earrings in the mail from Ulixis on Etsy a few days ago:

I love the colour of the precious beads, and these earrings will match wonderfully with a blue-ish retro summer dress that I have that's been waiting to come out of the closet!

Ulixis, better known as Amanda to me, is an old high school friend. I love seeing people on Etsy that I actually know in 'real life' :)

Some Cherry Blossoms for you...

Spring is somewhat here - snowed a couple days ago, and the weather network sometimes is still calling for snow, *sigh* - But, it is generally here. With spring comes exam time - which has been taking a lot of time (study break to write this, hehe). I only have two more left, one this afternoon - which will be the hardest (Radiographic Procedures and Positioning) I think, so after this one it's clear sailing; as well as one tomorrow. I also have an assignment to finish up that's due next week - but I want it done tonight so that summer-break can officially end tomorrow; oh the ambition haha. For those who don't know, I'm currently attending Cambrian College for their Medical Radiation Technology program :)

As well, Etsy and Artfire have most definitely been keeping me on my toes - a kind of busy that I definitely enjoy, and always encourage *wink wink*. But, just so you don't think I've only been all work and no play, I want to share some commissions that I completed this week using the 'Cherry Blossoms' motif in a family tree style - one is on top and one below.

I can't take all credit, the design idea was thought up by the commissioner of the paintings (families from both sides). I think that's what I enjoy most about these family trees - the fact that I'm working with someone to create them, and they are part of the end result. It's always wonderful to collaborate :)

These porcelain kitties by endlesswhimsy on Etsy are little masterpieces of sculpture art! Made out of porcelain, these elegant beauties are perfect to sit on your dresser or shelves. I'm especially fond of the fact that they are no overly detailed - its a nice touch.

Golden Bees

This Golden Bee Snack Set is so delicate and pretty, and still very sophisticated!

Created by baileydoesntbark on etsy, this porcelain set includes 23k gold details on it that have been hand painted and then fired on. Such a great looking set - I think I was possibly drawn by the polka dots; what can I say?

Baileydoesntbark
also includes a wide variety of similar house wares with different designs, many of them featuring the 23k gold details as well. Their pieces are very practical - dishwasher safe! Oh course, those with gold details cannot be placed in the microwave due to the metal - but those pieces not featuring gold can.

Happy Easter Everyone!

Happy Easter Everyone!

I hope that everyone is enjoying this long weekend, and hopefully the weather is beautiful where you are and you can enjoy the sunshine!

This vintage card I've included (I love vintage greetings, they're so cute), is from PeggyLovesVintage, and it's part of a printable vintage card set, with lots of beautiful cards on it - that you can print over and over again; the product that just keeps giving! :)

Grandmother Tree

I was dabbling with my watercolors yesterday working on a commission, and this colour combination came to mind - along with a great idea for it. This vibrant tree is the perfect representation of a grandmother: knowledgeable and full of advice through life learned lessons, but still vibrant, beautiful and colorful.

Original available at:

Spiffy

I found this item though the Shop Live event that Etsy hosted last night. It was a great event, with lots of wonderful sellers! This one in particular caught my eye:

This adorable squirrel, by constantgather, is a perfect spring piece of art. I actually love all her 3d sculpture pieces; but this in particular made me smile.

I think it's done...

This is the rubber stamp that I use to 'customize' all my awfully dull mailers. I've been using it for a little over a year now. I carved it myself from a soft lino block.

As you can see, with that crack, this stamp is definitely on it's last breaths. The back is held together by duck tape, and the crack definitely shows up when I use it to stamp my mailers. The stamp is moreless in two pieces held together by tape lol.

I can't carve one now, it will have to wait until I'm done school (in May). Until then, I'm going to have to be very careful with it hehe.

New Sketchbook!

I got myself a new sketchbook. My other ones were either full, or the paper was not the quality I like dabbling on (still good for super quick sketches that will inevitably end up in the trash - yes, bad artist practice I know). It's just a plain black one, but I hope to maybe decorate it or jazz it up a bit in the future. I just need to know what to do it up with!

Anyhow, I completed my first sketch in it just-just now (scanning as we speak!) It's of bluebells! I haven't seen these flowers since I was little and lived near Strathroy, Ontario (in Denfield to be more specific).

I think I have to figure out a better scanning system. I can't get the background nice and white on these :(

Spring is the season where dresses and skirts start coming out of the closets more. It leads into summer - which is the season of dresses and skirts.

Old China Skirt / Dress

This beautiful piece of clothing, by idea2lifestyle on Artfire is wonderful. It's great for people who might not like commitment to a single idea - it can be a dress or a long skirt! I'm particularly fond of it as a dress...but you never know when you want to switch things up! Also, they will adjust it to your measurements for a perfect fit!

Specimen's of Love

What's better than two bears in love. Especially when they reside in an amazing glass dome. The perfect specimen of love, captured for you to keep!

These porcelain lovlies can be found at kgrandey on Etsy. They aren't fixed within their glass dome home, so you can arrange them anyway you like!

Flowers Stationery Set!

I love putting together new stationery sets. And this one, Flowers, is just in time for spring! It's a set of four cards, two of each design. I'm more then happy to accommodate orders of larger sets, it's not a worry at all!
