My New Shoppe!

I've been playing around the idea of a shop that is run through my website. Those who follow me on Twitter probably have seen that I was experimenting with cart systems. Well, the winner was Paypal: it was plain and simple; letting me do whatever I wanted to do with it.

It's clean and simple like the site was, and easy to navigate - or so I think hehe. Once it's live, I will be asking for opinions :)

It will still be awhile before the shop is live. There is tons of products that need to be uploaded and created in it.

A splash of flower

I simply adore daisy's, and this necklace by lulubugjewelry caught my eye. The most amazing part about this piece, is that the yellow center is made from concrete - concrete, that stuff that you walk on all the time! Who knew that it could be paired so beautifully with silver. It is a lovely contrast.

Flower Power - lulubugjewelry

I also wanted to share this piece from her shop as well, it's ridiculously cute and made me smile! Once again, it is a combination of silver and concrete.

River Rocks Update

This painting has been taking quite a long time. Previous posts on it can be found: here, here, here, and here. The action shot above was quite hard to do...holding a camera in your not-dominate hand is hard; but easier than holding the paint brush. Below are some progress pictures that didn't end up on here sooner.

Just some water needing finishing here:A close up....alllllmost done:

This painting has been an outlining nightmare, put lightly hehe.

Ocean Sketches

I've started sketching some ocean scenes. A friend of mine was wanting a painting that went around the whole ocean-thing, so I thought I'd best get started since it's summer and I have a bit more time on my hand.

Now, these are the very very first sketches. So I doubt that the painting will involve either of them, but they are getting me in the ocean-mood. I added some watercolor to them, since they just looked like a big mess of pencil. The colour gives a bit of definition / idea to what exactly is there.

Despite these being the first; I'm liking the second sketch the most so far. The little fishes are so cute!

We All Scream For Ice Cream (in pretty bowls)!

These bowls make me want ice cream sundaes so badly! There are adorable, and very well crafted! I think that the star stamp on each of these pieces is like the cherry on top of a sundae!

I wish this was my desk...

I wish that I could have this desk as my studio desk. It's just so beautiful, and the colours are so calming. The entire piece is inspirational. Mind you, my kitty Oreo would not be able to sleep on this one as I worked - he's too big, and there wouldn't be enough room for him to sprawl over it lol

Print of the Month: June

For the month of June, I will be offering the print "Daddy's Little Girl" at 20% off regular price in all sizes available! Enjoy this great deal before the month ends!

Whimsical Jewelry

I stumbled upon heatherberry's store the other day, and I absolutely love her jewelry. It's so whimsical and girly and beautiful! Her photography captures her pieces so artfully!

These earrings would have to be my favorite from the large collection in her shop. I adore the little pearl that she includes with the lily pads, and it's such a stunning contrast of antiqued metal to smooth, crisp pearl.

A. Boleyn Necklace - heatherberry

The name of this necklace original attracted me. I loved the Boleyn books by Philippa Gregory, and so I had to take a better look at this listing! The colors are set together in a perfect way, with a girly-women vibe to them. The bird charm and the way that the beaded details stream from the bird are wonderful.

Forest Postcard Set

Forest Postcard Set

I've been working on this design and putting together this postcard pack for the past few weeks. Now that it's all done, I get to share it with my lovely readers! :)

The set includes four postcards - with envelopes - and they are printed on the back, in color, a cute polka dot motif. I am absolutely in love with the back, maybe even a little more than the fronts hehe

Birthday Cards

My "Red Balloon" painting is now available in card format! I'm considering these my birthday cards for my shops; but they can also used as cute birthday initiations or even just a cute card to send a "hello" to someone.

I will soon be listing a set of these cards, but until then if you're interested in more than one, just let me know :)

The Bus

I've been taking the bus a lot this summer already to go visit my boyfriend in Barrie. I am currently car-shopping, but the criteria for a car purchase are super strict, so it may be awhile until I find the one. Until then, the bus it is!

VW Lime Bus Recycled Lunch Bag - thecraftpantry

Private Quadruple Decker Card - Selena Wong, Little Otsu

Microbus Post-It Set - Retro Girls, nothingelegant

So in about two hours or so, I'll be on the bus - and in four-ish hours after that, I'll be home again. Oh, the wheels on the bus go round and round....

Red Balloon Original Painting!

I just posted this painting yesterday. I think that I may be making some birthday cards out of it and posting them in store. The green was definitely inspired by the leaves that are finally starting to grow and give some colour to outside. And who can't resist a beautiful bright red balloon?

The original painting is available on my Etsy shop. Prints are available on both my Artfire and Supermarket

Artfire Feature: Fused Glass Plate

Green and Blue Play Well Together - Smokeylady54

I love the colours on this fused glass plate. The colours are so vivid and beautiful. It would make an excellent centerpiece item in a nice neutral living area.

Etsy Feature: Herb Garden Lampwork Glass and Sterling Silver Bracelet

Herb Garden - WildWomenJewelry

This stunning bracelet by WildWomenJewelry on Etsy, is made of beautiful hues of green, and the touches of silver are stunning and so unique. I added it to my favorites a while ago, and then I remembered it again when I was thinking about the smell of fresh cut grass seeping through my window.

Stopping and smelling the roses

I just wanted to share with you the most pretty rose plant that I now have living with me in my office (hopefully for longer than shorter; I really don't want it to die lol).

It's a pretty miniature rose plant, with the most lovely apricot / pink blossoms. There's lots of blossoms on it too - which should bloom at slightly different times, judging from their 'stages' that they're at.

Here we go again

I'm redesigning my website www.artbyangie.ca again.

I'm not 100% sure what I'm going to do, so I've created an image (above) to take place for the site for now while I experiment with it - so no one sees my messes :)

I've been thinking I may want to add a cart system to it as well. But I'm not sure. Any advice is always welcome :)

Treasury Love

I managed - by some fluke I'm sure - to stumble upon the treasuries as they were getting ready for a new set of them. So I quickly thought of an idea, an got one! :) If you click on the picture above, it will go bigger.

You can see it here.

River Rocks Painting Update

Remember that painting from a long while back that I was working on - well, not too far back (blogged at here and here)...well, it's still not done - BUT, it's being worked on. Here's an updated photo:

Soon....Soon it will be done. Oh, I am ever so tired of all those outlines lol. Oh, this was quite the project that I took on here lol.

A Second Life

I love these frames by SecondLineFrames. I love how they are so rustic, and remind me of the old barn we used to have at my parents house. They would look perfect with a cute black and white photo.

Pink, Gray and White Striped Frame - SecondLineFrames

They are also created from wood remnants from hurricane Katrina. They state wonderfully that, "It’s our way of preserving a little part of the beloved memory of old New Orleans while helping to rebuild it toward a better tomorrow." Also, they are donating a minimum of 20% to a New Orleans organization.

Forest Keepsake

Forest Keepsake - Original Painting

Wouldn't it be nice if we could take a little bit of forest and save and preserve it in a jar for the future?

I just completed this painting last night. I got the idea for it when I was on vacation. I love terrariums, and so the idea came to include the little tree from my La Petite Forest series. It especially relevant to the deforestation issues - if we were able to save little pieces of those forests before they were destroyed....although the ultimate goal would be to prevent it in general. The original is available in shop.

For those interested in prints, they are currently available in the Artfire and Supermarket shops. My Etsy shop will feature the print once the original is sold :)

A new type of tree...

Another commission done and soon to be on it's way to it's new owner. I particularly like the coloring in this tree, with the orange mixed in the way it is. I think it might spur a new idea for another painting. We'll have to see. I had a 'light bulb' moment the other night, but I'm still trying to work out the kinks in my sketchbook :)

Especially now since school is done, I'm continuously open to commission paintings. I love working with others to create a beautiful end product. You can visit one of my stores for more information:

T-shirt Love

I adore this t-shirt. I never thought that I would be fond of the "burn out" effect that is now "in", but I had recently purchased a t-shirt with that effect and it's cute: you can wear a colored tank under and it shows up nicely.

The colors are perfect on this tee. I'm so fond of grays, and blues, turquoises and purples that are a little darker. I have been a long time follower of fluxproduction's work. Maybe if I go above the 'goal' this week I might treat myself :)

Sweetheart and Whisker and Fishes

I wrote about these two paintings a while back, here. I apologize that it took this long, but the originals are now available in shop!

A place to put those things...

I'm not sure if it's just me - but those apple stickers end up anywhere they can be stuck lol. This is the cutest solution to them:

Green Thumbs

Garden planting time is soon among us - some may have even already started. I don't have a little plot of ground this year unfortunately now that I'm living in an apartment building - although the squirrels won last year and ate most of my stuff anyways hehe.

I have given up growing plants inside too. I have one out of reach of my kitty, Oreo - but new plants would need sunlight, and he would have reach to those and eat and / or knock them down. So alas, I will just have to visit my mom lots this year to have her garden goodies. :)

Here are some cute plant markers that I think would make any garden cute!
